The Graduate Class Gift Program recognizes the generosity of graduating students as they give back to the
University in support of current and future students. The mission of this
long-standing tradition is to provide students an opportunity to start their
legacy of giving to the University. This gift is one way students can
demonstrate their pride in becoming a River graduate and recognize their
transition from student to a member of the University’s Alumni Association.
The
Graduate Class Gift Program is comprised of:
Senior
Class Challenge
The
Senior Class Challenge program is designed for the graduating senior class of
undergraduate students and is designed to create a philanthropic spirit among students.
The current graduating class is challenged to secure a higher participation
rate than the previous year’s class. The program is coordinated by
the Office of University Advancement and Alumni Relations in partnership with
the Senior Class Challenge Leaders, who work to communicate the program to
their classmates and generate enthusiasm and support. Seniors are asked to make
a gift of $20.15 in honor of their graduation year. The Senior Class gift is
recognized at the Senior Send Off event on May 5, 2015.
Professional
Studies, Graduate, and Doctoral Students
The University’s graduate class giving program for adult learners provides an
opportunity for working professionals to make their first gift to the
University or for those earning an additional degree to continue their support
in honor of their most recent degree. Participation in this initiative signifies
an appreciation of the professional development and career advancement
opportunities made possible for students by their Rivier education. Gifts are
directed to the Rivier University Fund to support current and future Rivier
students through financial aid and scholarship support.
Recognizing a united spirit!
All
graduating students who support the Graduate Class Gift program will receive a
recognition cord to wear with academic attire at Commencement on May 9, 2015.
The cord symbolizes the united spirit of the graduating class and is a sign of
their support of Rivier University and the education they received. Students
who make a donation to the Graduate Class Gift program receive their cord
either in person or by mail, prior to the Commencement ceremony.
