Rivier University alumni service initiative kicks off April 1. Alumni around the world are invited to participate.
As an extension of the University’s 2015 First-Year Student Day of Service on April 18, 2015, Rivier University’s volunteer efforts are going global with an invitation for alumni around the world to reach out in service to their local communities. The ‘Riv Serves Around the World’ initiative is an opportunity to involve all alumni, especially those who live out of the local area, in this community event. ‘Riv Serves Around the World’ begins on April 1 and extends throughout the month.
In its third year, the First-Year Student Day of Service gathers approximately 200 first-year students, 25 upper-class peer mentors, staff and now alumni in an event that provides nearly 700 hours of service to Nashua’s non-profit organizations, especially those focusing on the needs of at-risk populations.
Rivier’s alumni can serve alongside first-year students on April 18 in the Greater Nashua area or contribute to the month’s service hour total by volunteering in their local communities around the globe. Alumni are encouraged to submit their service hours, organization, and photos via an online submission form that will be posted on the University website’s Alumni Service page.
To participate in the April 18 First-Year Student Day of Service, alumni should call (603) 897-8665 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to register.
Alumni volunteer experiences will be shared with the community, providing a view of Rivier graduates’ ongoing impact in the world.
