Rivier University was the site of a dynamic discussion this week, led by Governor Maggie Hassan. The Governor’s Dinner on Innovation drew local, state, and national leaders to discuss advances in social innovation and higher education.

Hosted by New Hampshire State Representative Latha Mangipudi, the event gathered a distinguished group of entrepreneurs, healthcare professionals, state officers and leaders in higher education from Harvard University Business School, Harvard Medical School, MIT Sloan School of Business and Rivier University.

Current and former government officials, including Desh Deshpande, Co-Chair of the National Advisory Council on Innovation and Entrepreneurship, N.H. Senator Honorable Betty Lasky and former N.H. Congressman Honorable Paul Hodes participated in the event.

Discussions focused on how to build strategic partnerships between innovative institutions like Rivier University and private businesses. Attracting young, tech-savvy talent and international students to New Hampshire, programs to reduce recidivism, early intervention and community health program topics were explored.

Sister Paula Marie Buley, IHM, Rivier University President, gave concluding remarks, noting that ongoing dialogue was vital for the future development of the state of New Hampshire.
