Fallon President and CEO to speak at April President’s Circle Event

Hughes Fallon newsPatrick Hughes, President and CEO of Fallon Community Health Plan and former NFL player, will speak to an audience of presidents, CEOs and business leaders at Rivier College’s April 28 President’s Circle event, “Innovation and agility in the age of regulation.”

A long-time New Hampshire resident, Hughes will share the story of how he successfully led Fallon Community Health Plan through some of the most dynamic and challenging circumstances any business could experience, ensuring the organization remains a competitive and viable force. Learn how he engaged employees to focus on executing a long-term strategic plan and how a reliance on the company’s experience and achievements at being innovative and agile provided a foundation for a successful future.

Hughes was named President and CEO of Fallon Community Health Plan in April 2010 after briefly serving in an interim capacity. He joined FCHP in 2007 as Senior Vice President/Chief Marketing and Sales Officer, responsible for implementing and executing FCHP’s marketing and sales strategy in New England. At the end of 2007, he assumed responsibility for health plan operations in the new role of Division President. Steering the company in its goal of net new profitable growth, he provided strong leadership for FCHP’s sales, service and advocacy initiatives.

He previously served as President and CEO of W. P. Hughes and Company, a successful consulting and brokerage firm he founded in New Hampshire. Prior to owning his own business, Hughes was Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Product Development for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts and served as the President of Employee Benefit Plan Administration, the largest third-party administrator in New England.

Hughes holds a B.S. degree from Boston University, and is a member of the university’s Scarlet Key Society and the B.U. athletic Hall of Fame. He is a 10-year veteran of the National Football League.

Comprised of distinguished business and community leaders, the Rivier College President’s Circle opens dialogue and promotes the exchange of ideas and approaches for dealing with issues impacting the businesses, organizations, and citizens of New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

The session will take place on Thursday, April 28 from 7:30-9:30 a.m. in the Dion Center Reception Room at Rivier College in Nashua.
