Community Agency Partnerships

Rivier University has official partnership with multiple service opportunities at the following agencies. Most agencies have a student coordinator that works to help support student service at the location.

21st Century Community Learning Centers  
After school enrichment programs at various Nashua Public Schools
Opportunities: Opportunities to mentor, assist with homework, murals, sports and other enrichment activities
Days/Times: Monday-Friday 3-6
Ann Marie House
Address: 180 Lowell Road, Hudson NH 03051
Housing for homeless families
Opportunities: Various opportunities to assist homeless families. Opportunities include playing with children, assisting with programs and helping to cook.
Days/Times: Opportunities to assist at all times
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Nashua
Address: 33 Main Street Suite 101, Nashua NH 03060
The agency works to make a positive difference in the lives of children who are primarily from single parent homes through one-to-one mentoring. They offer both community and school based mentoring.
Opportunities: Opportunities to mentor youth ages 6-12 (both in school or community setting). Volunteers also needed for special events such as holiday parties and fundraisers. 
Days/Times: Depends on the schedule and availability of the mentor and mentee.

Boys and Girls Club of Nashua

Provides after school programs and services for youth to provide safety and growth.
Opportunities: Opportunities for mentoring, tutoring, assistance with after school programs and daycare
Days/Times: Primarily 3-6 p.m. 
Girls Inc. of Greater Nashua

Provides programs and enrichment opportunities for girls
Opportunities: Opportunities for male and female volunteers to assist with after school activities, and mentoring 
Days/Times: 3:00-6:00 Monday-Friday
Harbor Homes

Residential and support services for homeless individuals
Opportunities: Assist clients in various activities and programs
Days/Times: Opportunities to assist at all times
Hunt Community

Assisted living facility for the elderly
Opportunities: Various opportunities to assist with activities, programs and companionship
Days/Times: Opportunities to assist at all times

Nashua Police Athletic League
Address: 52 Ash Street, Nashua NH 03060
The program offers many activities including an after school program serving ages 7-18. The program has a mission to foster positive relationships between youth and police.
Opportunities: Opportunities to assist with homework help, mentoring youth, program planning, recreational sports and activities, event planning and administrative help.
Days/Times: Afterschool program runs M-Th 3-6 and F 3-5. Opportunities to plan activities and administrative support are available throughout the daytime as well.

Nashua Soup Kitchen

Agency provides shelter, programs and food to those in need.
Opportunities: Opportunities to help serve food at meal times and provide assistance in various programs
Days/Times: Opportunities to assist at all times

PLUS Company
Address: 240 Main Dunstable Road Nashua NH 03064
A comprehensive organization meeting the vocational, educational, residential and social needs of people with developmental disabilities.
Opportunities: Assistance with support activities for people with developmental disabilities. Opportunities include companionship, Special Olympics, adult literacy program, and special programs.   
Days/Times: Volunteer opportunities are primarily 9-3 but other times might be available.

Salvation Army

Agency provides various services to the community
Opportunities: Opportunities to mentor, assist with homework and enrichment activities
Days/Times: Monday- Friday 3-6

The CareGivers, Inc.
Address:  19 Harvey Road Bedford NH 03110
An agency that helps the frail, elderly and disabled to maintain their independence and dignity through the spirit of service.
Opportunities: A great deal of opportunities to assist at their senior food pantry in Bedford. Volunteers can call clients to take food orders, assist with packing, and sticking shelves. Opportunities to deliver food packages are also available
Days/Times: M-F 9-3

Marguerite’s Place
Address:  87 Palm Street Nashua NH 03060
A transitional housing program for woman and children in crisis.
Opportunities: Various opportunities to assistance with the programs. Opportunities include childcare, office help, fundraising, food/diaper drive organizing, event planning, and helping to cook.
Days/Times: Primarily M-F 8-4:30. Some opportunities on Thursday evening

Rivier University also supports additional service options at several other locations within the Nashua Community. Affiliate agencies include: American Red Cross, Marguerite’s Place, NH Healthy Kids and many more.
